About the show

A workshop performance of He Left in the Middle of the Night

A sequel to the award-winning multimedia solo piece Lost in Lvov.

Historically, Russian men are secretive, full of solitude, pride and mystery. They bury themselves in vodka bottles and novels. This piece is a first-generation woman's investigation of the secretive hand-me down tales of the Russian Jewish men who came before her, many of whom left in the middle of the night. Performed with dancing puppets, video-film integration, live music, and storytelling, this fairytale-like historical reflection presents a woman's journey to construct her own American Dream.

Part of HERE's SubletSeries: Co-op 2015.
