Horatio

Horatio played from September 15-18, 2010 in the Dorothy B. Williams Theatre.

About the show

Part of the SUMMER SUBLET SERIES 2010

Created by Ely Key, Antonguilio Panizzi, and Samuel Smith-Stevens. Horatio is a mixed media theater piece to accompany the exploratory documentary of the same title due out Spring of 2011. Two actors play six different, funny, offensive, and interesting characters based on the personalities that are alive at the Corporal John A. Seravalli Playground (aka Horatio), a 1.14 acre concrete ball yard on Hudson between Gansevoort and Horatio in the Meat Packing District. With a game of “three on three” as the forum, Horatio cuts into the flesh of the 50+ years of culture, stories, and rules that thrive at the park. Amidst the impeding development of the neighborhood, two players, Mike Seravalli and Tony Dapolito, play for stakes- whether Tony will protest the developmental changes with Mike, or Mike will help pass out Tony's real estate business card. Incorporating footage from their Horatio documentary, Ely, Antongiulio, and Sam take a new approach to theater.
