We strive to create an anti-racist culture that values trust, promotes respect, allows flexibility, and accommodates people’s personal and professional needs and aspirations. We promote non-hierarchical collaboration, transparency, and open communication among staff, artists, board and audiences. Our artists, staff, and board are highly creative individuals, representing a range of backgrounds, skills, and experiences. Above all, we value symbiosis and nurturing of our community (artists, staff, board, and audiences).
Rooted in HERE’s mission and values, the board and staff are invested in launching a new structure where HERE will be led by three Co-Directors. These three Co-Directors will all be part of the artistic life of HERE through the curation and support for HERE artists, and their ability to further the work, mission and reputation of HERE through their own artistic practice.
HERE is hiring two new Co-Directors to come into the organization starting in May/June 2024. The third Co-Director is Amanda Szeglowski, who until recently served as Associate Artistic Director, was previously a HARP artist at HERE, and who has been associated with the organization for 13 years.
We are looking for people like you to join our board. Your perspective is needed and welcome. HERE’s Board of Directors is a diverse group of individuals who are artistically curious and passionate about supporting artists and artistic life in New York City. If being a part of this circle of our community is of interest to you or someone you know, please feel free to reach out to Founding Artistic Director Kristin Marting at kristin@here.org
