DESCRIPTION:treya lam \nSolo music set. \ntreya lam is a composer\, interdisciplinary performing and recording artist whose intersecting identities ignites their work. lam’s voice culminates in liberation-oriented songwriting and environmental scores throughout solo and collaborative work that “perfectly captures the mixture of love\, loss and hope” (Smithsonian Magazine). \ntreya’s debut Good News was created entirely by womxn and released via Kaki King’s label. they are a member of the Resistance Revival Chorus and their song Dawn is featured on the RRC’s album “This Joy” alongside featured artist Rhiannon Giddens.  they are currently recording their sophomore album “otherland: a sonic altar” which features Allison Russell. treya has been researching and reinterpreting music from A Grain of Sand: Music for the Struggle by Asians in America with Nobuko Miyamoto’s blessing. lam has supported and shared stages with Ani DiFranco\, Valerie June\, and Susie Ibarra and has performed original music at Lincoln Center\, Celebrate Brooklyn\, and the Newport Folk Fest. \nlam has been a OneBeat fellow\, Joe’s Pub Working Group artist\, and NYCLU Artist Ambassador. their work has received support from the New York Voices Commission\, NYSCA\, NYFA\, Music Forward Foundation\, and they have been in residence at MASS MoCA\, Pioneer Works\, Brooklyn College \nPerformances: \nTuesday\, June 24th: Performance #1 at 7:00 pm \nWednesday\, June 25th: Performance #2 at 7:00 pm \nVenue: HERE Dorothy B.
