Half-Life
Written by Isabella Waldron
Directed by Rosie Glen-Lambert
A conspiracy-prone woman relocates to a small town with her partner, hoping to escape the shadows of a past trauma. But her plan to start over is upended when her assertive new neighbor ropes her into a campaign to hold the EPA accountable for illegally buried nuclear waste leaching into their community. As their fight unfolds, both women must confront what justice truly means to them—and whether it’s even a possibility.

Half-Life is developed as part of the Moxie Incubator. Our annual flagship program, The Moxie Incubator brings together a cohort of writers, directors, and producers for a three-step rotating development process of new plays and musicals. Past production partners have included the DR2 Theater, WP Theater, where Moxie was one of the inaugural 2023 Space Program Residents, and IRT Theater.
Moxie Arts NY is a Lilly Award-winning nonprofit theatre company founded in 2017 dedicated to engaging audiences with stories centering women, created by artists of historically excluded genders (including women, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming artists). Our programming provides opportunities for artists at all stages of career development, including dramaturgical support, resources for staged readings, and professional management for the development of new work – from the page to the stage, and everywhere in between. Over the past four seasons, 100% of our playwrights and 97% of our creative teams have been artists of historically excluded genders. In the past three seasons, 90% of our writers, 75% of our directors and more than 50% of our actors and creative team members have been BIPOC artists.
