SEATS on the Spectrum:
HERE is proud to partner with SEATS ON THE SPECTRUM to offer inclusive, not “relaxed”, performances!. SEATS uses a handful of accommodations so that neurodivergent theatergoers can enjoy shows equally with their neurotypical peers.
SEATS ON THE SPECTRUM is a pilot program intended to create a more equitable theater-going experience for neurodivergent individuals. HERE intends in this partnership to create the conditions for all audiences to engage with the work on our stage, and promote understanding of differences in needs and behaviors that we welcome in our spaces!
Please click the link to learn more about SEATS on the Spectrum: https://seatsonthespectrum.org/seats/
As part of our partnership with SEATS on the Spectrum, for this production, HERE is able to offer:
A narrative that offers audience members information describing the content, themes and theatrical elements they can expect to encounter during the performance, as well as insight into what audience members can expect from their physical experience at HERE Arts Center.
Accessible seating close to exits. These seats will be indicated with signs labeled “Reserved”.
Sensory tools available for use by any and all audience members throughout the performance. Please note: These tools are not to be taken home, and must be returned to the container they were borrowed from following the performance.
A designated break area. Break areas are open to anyone who needs to leave the theatre during the performance. Break areas at HERE will not be 100% private or quiet, and audience members can expect that there may be people passing through this break area at any time.
Please note:
HERE will not have clinically trained support specialists on site during the performance. HERE is not able to offer a high support theatergoing experience, and is only equipped to provide the accommodations listed above at this time.
These are not “relaxed” performances and are not intended for audiences who need content, lighting and sound accommodations. If our offerings feel like a match for you, then we can’t wait to welcome you to HERE!
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact the box office by calling (212) 647-0202 or emailing tickets@here.org
