The “Hottest” show in town! The sold-out series of performances in the Bay Area and L.A. was celebrated for its ability to balance humor and poignancy while tackling a traditionally taboo topic. Curated from both local New York women and from around the country, each show concludes with a Q&A with a certified menopause specialist, turning the monologues into dialogue. Our mission is to break the generational silence around menopause so women everywhere can access the healthcare they deserve.

ABOUT THE SHOW
This collaborative theatre movement is built around three core pillars:
1. Listen: Through creative workshops, women from the local community in which we will perform, gather to listen to each other’s stories and begin the monologue-writing process.
2. Share: Selected submissions are brought to the stage in any way the creator would like to tell their story. These culminate in an interdisciplinary production that includes traditional monologues, puppetry, live painting, dance and more.
3. Serve: Following each performance, a certified menopause doctor or specialist hosts a Q&A session to answer questions and provide support.
ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM
Lulu Braunstein (Producer & Co-Founder) grew up in a theatrical family in the UK and has been involved in local theatre wherever she has lived. She worked in production for live televised events in London and, for more than a decade, has produced and directed elementary school musicals in Northern California. She serves as Secretary to the Board of Town Hall Theatre in the Bay Area. An amateur singer and improviser, Lulu believes deeply in the power of the performing arts to inspire as well as humble in a single evening. She is honored to uplift the voices of women who have suffered far too long due to the lack of understanding, research, and open discussion around menopause. By bringing communities together to build empathy and shared knowledge, she hopes to help clear the fog surrounding this life stage.
Carrie Vanhouten (Creator & Co-Founder) is a Rochester, New York native now living in the Bay Area with her family. Before relocating to California, she worked as a teaching artist with New York’s The Leadership Program, which shaped her belief in the transformative power of the arts. A serial entrepreneur, she is also an accomplished visual artist, Reiki practitioner, and active member of her local improv comedy group. She volunteers with Community Concern for Cats, a local rescue organization. Carrie holds a B.A. in Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College and is thrilled to be once again creating work in her favorite city.
Lisa Anne Morrison (Director & Co-Founder) has been a working theatre professional for over 25 years. Her acting work spans television, commercials, and theatre, with performances at Cal Shakes, TheatreWorks, Magic Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, Z Space, A Noise Within, Odyssey Theatre, and Laguna Playhouse. A longtime member of Theatre of NOTE in Los Angeles, she also served on the board of Town Hall Theatre in the Bay Area, where she helped launch the New Voices (now SNAP) series, highlighting historically excluded playwrights. Lisa has volunteered extensively with CoachArt, directing the Bay Area edition of their annual gala, and serves on the advisory board for Citizens for the Vote, a national voting rights organization. As a director, she is committed to work at the intersection of theatre and activism. She holds a B.F.A. from CalArts.
