Ruby & Charlie is an Union Internationale de la Marionnette Citation of Excellence-winning, wordless, tabletop puppet play featuring a live jazz ensemble. The story follows a 1950s couple whose bond is forged through music and dance, leading to a whirlwind courtship filled with tender moments and exuberant swing dancing. Things begin to sour after they’ve settled into domesticity, and soon hurt and anger give way to unfaithfulness. After a glimpse into Charlie’s past, both of them realize the error of their ways, and they attempt to mend the relationship. Slowly rebuilding their home and trust in each other, they eventually find the music and dance again.
