Are you a playwright, performance maker, or theater artist looking for an experienced dramaturg to help you develop your piece? HERE is now offering dramaturgical services to artists developing new work.

We can help you work through hard questions, identify new possibilities, kill your darlings, birth new ones, get un-stuck, and take your piece to the next level. For artists who are looking for a single outside perspective, we can provide focused one-on-one consultation. For projects with more complex development needs or that might benefit from multiple perspectives from dramaturgs of different backgrounds or areas of expertise, we can pair you with two dramaturgs to best address your needs.

For individual playwrights:
Script Consultation – $200/session for one dramaturg; $350/session for two dramaturgs

Each session includes:

HERE dramaturg(s) reading a draft of your script
Preparation and consideration of your specific questions or goals
A one-hour conversation, either in person at HERE or via Zoom

For institutions:
Dramaturgy Retainer – $2K/project for one dramaturg; $3K/project for two dramaturgs

Retainer includes:

HERE dramaturg(s) reading multiple drafts over a period of time, up to 3 months
Multiple notes and feedback conversations with playwright and/or institutional staff
Participation in readings, workshops, rehearsal, or development processes

Please note: Participation in HERE’s dramaturgy program is separate from HERE’s artistic curation and programming processes. Booking a dramaturgical consultation does not constitute a submission to HERE, guarantee consideration for future programming, or influence HERE’s curatorial decisions.
