Written and performed by Sheherazaad, Directed by Liz Peterson
ਆਦਤ / the Ādat (habit) is the story of a young woman’s life-altering catfishing compulsion, set against the backdrop of Sikh-American life in the Bay Area during early social media. Drawing on traditional Giddha dance-theater and featuring a small ensemble of South-Asian instrumentalists, this new musical refracts themes of diasporic religiosity, addiction, and romantic projection through an evolving hall of mirrors. With an original score and book in both English and Punjabi, by contemporary composer and performer Sheherazaad.
