VICHITRA: ENGLANDBASHI

VICHITRA is an experiment in queer South Asian imagination. Check out Episode 1: An Anthology of Queer Dreams at www.vichitra.media. HERE is excited to present Episode 2: Englandbashi, a contemporary ghost story about taking reincarnation (too?) seriously. Created and directed by Shayok Misha Chowdhury, with art direction and video by Kameron Neal and sound design by Jeremy S. Bloom.

Shayok Misha Chowdhury is a queer Bengali writer, director and performance-maker. He is currently in residence at HERE, BRIC, and The Public Theater, and recently at Ars Nova, New York Theatre Workshop, Soho Rep, SPACE on Ryder Farm, The Drama League, and The Flea.
Jeremy S. Bloom
Jeremy S. Bloom is an Emmy-nominated sound designer whose work spans across podcasts, film/TV, immersive exhibits, and theater. His original sound designs have been presented internationally
Kameron Neal
Kameron Neal is a multidisciplinary artist based in NYC. Forbes described Kameron’s exhibition at Detroit Art Week as “an absurd escape that simultaneously provokes and entertains.” His video art was featured in music videos for Billy Porter and Rufus Wainwright.
Tarfia Faizullah
Tarfia Faizullah is the author of two poetry collections, REGISTERS OF ILLUMINATED VILLAGES (Graywolf, 2018) and SEAM (SIU, 2014). Tarfia’s writing appears widely in the U.S. and abroad.
