Dream of Rays

Aug 11-14

DREAM OF RAYS uses puppetry, music, and movement to tell the story of seafaring renegades tasked with restoring a dying world. Through the epic scope of fantasy, the intimacy of theater, and the diversity of its ensemble, the show examines pressing issues in our world.

In Rays, a rogue commander is fighting a losing battle with the Queen of the Jade Bay, whose massive construction project is depleting the ocean of its resources. As their world approaches devastation, the Queen learns that a school of singing Manta Rays, whose voices hold legendary healing powers, has appeared in the west. The Queen offers clemency to the commander if she successfully ferries the Rays back to the Jade Bay, in the hopes their voices might restore the dying waters.
