FEAST: A Yoruba Project
On their way to a family feast, the lives of 3 sisters (Yemoja, Oya, and Osun)are forever changed when they meet a trickster (Esu) along the way. Based on Yoruba spirituality FEAST travels from Nigeria to Brazil, Cuba, United States and England, unveiling the global connection and historical impact between people of Yoruba descent.
First premiered at the Young Vic Theatre and commissioned by the Royal Court Theatre in the United Kingdom, FEAST: A Yoruba Project is also a story of both forced and voluntary migration that transforms identities. This transformation has been a reality for all who are a part of the Yoruba, Latinx and African diasporas.
With 2019 marking the 400-year anniversary of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, this production is more relevant than ever before.
