Guava and Other Tasty Fruits

GUAVA:

A very special premiere screening of Guava, the second chapter of an ongoing operatic project by HARP Artist Angélica Negrón realized through various short films directed by different filmmakers in collaboration with drag performers exploring the complexity and boundlessness of identity.

Guava was directed by Claudia Calderón and features drag performer Untitled Queen as Guava. It explores the theme of nostalgia for the place of origin from the perspective of the diasporic experience represented through the loss of familiar flavors and the need for connection to memories. The screening will be followed by a Q/A with the director, composer and drag performer.
