Theater in Quarantine imposes its strictest limitations to date in this hybrid, digital confrontation performed entirely from a box measuring only 34” wide by 19” tall. Pushing the boundaries of, and proximity to, a concept of self-exposure that’s becoming the default extension of our ever more codependent relationship with technology and life online, [Untitled Miniature] asks how we find ourselves embedded within all this technology. How is our body exploited when the content we share is ourselves? [Untitled Miniature] is being developed as a durational, solo-performance for an April 2025 premiere intended for both an in-person audience at HERE’s DOT theater in New York City, and a live-streamed audience on HERE’s digital platform URHERE.

HERE is now a mask-optional space. All patrons attending HERE performances and events will no longer be required to wear masks.

We ask all audience members to please stay home if they have a sore throat, are feeling sick in any other way, or have been recently exposed to COVID-19, and to please contact the box office for refunds or exchanges.

All of our performers, technicians, and staff members are required to be fully vaccinated and masked unless they are onstage performing. Additionally, they are participating in an active testing regimen to keep everyone as safe as possible.

HERE reserves the right to revise protocols as the rate of transmission changes and in light of new scientific data that may present itself.

Joshua William Gelb

Joshua William Gelb is the director, performer, and creative technologist behind Theater in Quarantine, the Obie and Drama League Award-winning digital performance laboratory operating out of an East Village closet measuring only 8 sq feet. Working with over one hundred collaborators and livestreaming dozens of productions to its YouTube Channel, TiQ has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered, Japan's NHK Television, and has been profiled in The New Yorker and The New York Times. Gelb holds a masters in directing from Marianne Weems' Future Stages Program at Carnegie Mellon, has participated in the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and prior to the pandemic created both Jazz Singer and The Black Crook in residence at Abrons Arts Center while his Drama Desk nominated adaptation of A Hunger Artist, created in collaboration with Sinking Ship Productions, continues to tour.
