ABOUT THE ARTIST

Diana Oh is an open channel to the Art that feels good to their body. Oh is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work transcends traditional boundaries, blending performance, music, and ritual to create transformative experiences. Oh’s creations are deeply rooted in themes of celebration and empowerment, particularly for marginalized groups. Oh is also an Actor, Singer-Songwriter, and Musician. Among their most notable works is {my lingerie play} (New York Times Critics Pick), a series of ten underground performance installations where Oh, dressed in lingerie, used public spaces to confront issues of violence and reclaim agency. The New York Times described it as “a glitter bomb of feminist and queer protest that feels just right for this cultural moment” . In The Infinite Love Party (New York Times Critics Pick), Oh orchestrates intentional gatherings—barefoot potluck dinners, dance parties, and sleepovers—for queer and trans people of color (QTPOC) and their allies, fostering connection and celebration. Similarly, CLAIRVOYANCE, a residency at the American Repertory Theater, culminated in a series of installations and a concert that centered queer magic and community healing. The Gift Project was presented on April 9 and 10, 2022 at Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater in New York City. The project involved Diana Oh creating original music inspired by interviews with elders born in 1956 or earlier, who had overcome significant challenges. Each elder received a personalized song as a gift, combining their stories with live music and documentary footage in a performance that celebrated their lives. Oh’s accolades include being named a Refinery29 Top LGBTQ Influencer, the first queer Korean-American interviewed on Korean Broadcast Radio, and a Sundance Institute Fellow. They have also received the Helen Merrill Award and the Steinberg Playwright Award.
