Stick Up! (Braquage)

December 17 - 19, 2011

Billy and I are proper crooks – shoplifting, car jacking, burglarizing crooks. But now we’re moving on to bigger things…

Stick Up! (Braquage) is based on a true story told by godfather to godson and has all the best elements of a classic heist – from scaling skyscrapers and high-octane car chases to run-ins with the mob and ticking time bombs, Stick Up! provides you with the blueprint for the perfect crime.

Compagnie Bakélite motorizes, tinkers, tunes, tortures, uses and misuses everyday household appliances to help you experience all the excitement of a hold-up… live!

“”Braquage is a lovely show full of cleverness and ingenuity, sophisticated use of objects and technology, great sight gags and sheer delight from beginning to end.””

– Simon Hart, Artistic Director, Puppet Animation Scotland (UK).

Stick Up! is a presentation of HERE’s Dream Music Puppetry Program, supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts, celebrating 50 years of building strong, creative communities in New York State’s 62 counties. Additional support provided by The Jim Henson Foundation. Stick Up! was originally co-produced by Theatre Lillico La Passerelle, Centre Regional des arts de la Marionnette de Dives-sur-Mer, and is made possible with support from the Ministere de la culture et de la communication (DRAC de Bretagne), Conseil Regional de Bretagne, Ville de Rennes.

Compagnie Bakélite was founded in 2005 by Olivier Rannou, an artist who has had a penchant for building, disassembling and reconstructing motorized objects for as long as he can remember.
