July heats up at HERE with the scorching return of award-winning UK playwright, Philip Ridley. Tender Napalm is a bold, new play which explores the landscape that is a relationship between a man and a woman. Explosive, poetic and brutal, the play re-examines and re-defines the language of love…and how that love struggles to survive in the face of catastrophe.
With approval from Ridley, Director David Norwood reimagines the critically acclaimed play in the East Coast and with an African-American cast, making this production a uniquely American version of Ridley’s poetic two-hander. Tender Napalm premiered at the Southwark Playhouse in London in 2011, subsequently premiering in NYC in 2012 to critical acclaim.
