hemispheres
In this new work-in-progress piece Hemispheres, stage magicians Vinny DePonto and Geoff Kanick explore the themes of the divided self. Conflicting thoughts, opinions, and behaviors divide us amongst society and ourselves. Hemispheres aspires to make something beautiful of our opposites.
DePonto’s recent Off-Broadway stage show Charlatan was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Production. In addition to his live performances, DePonto’s consulting work was featured in the most recent production of Angels in America on Broadway, in Lincoln Center’s Ghostlight, and in hit television shows on The Discovery Channel, NBC, and Netflix. He is also a member of the award-winning immersive theatre group Third Rail Projects. His solo work has been supported by Ars Nova, The American Conservatory Theatre, HERE, and The Orchard Project. He enjoys the aroma of antique shops, colorful socks, and your deep, dark secrets. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
